What You're Looking At
NERVA Globe is a signal intelligence surface built on quantum-inspired decision mathematics. Every bar rising from the globe is a NERVA node — a geopolitical actor, climate system, insurance market, financial hub, or local risk zone. The bar's height tells you how readable the signal is. The color tells you what decision the math recommends.
The key insight: You are not looking down at a map. You are standing outside the globe and every node is broadcasting a signal at you. Some signals are clean and actionable. Some are pure noise. NERVA tells you which is which.
The Five States
State
What It Means
Bar
What You Do
COMMIT
Trajectory locked, high coherence, low entropy. Signal is clean.
Tall, green
Align with this actor. Low surprise expected.
HOLD
Deliberate pause. Coherent but waiting for a trigger.
Begin exit planning if exposed. Prepare contingency.
TOXIC
Decision integrity destroyed. Maximum entropy. Pure noise.
Short, red
Distance yourself. Wait for regime reset.
Reading the Bars
Bar height is the inverse of entropy — the lower the entropy (more decision coherence), the taller the bar. A tall green bar means "clean signal, act here." A short red bar means "noise, stand aside." A short red bar with a purple ring means the node is chaotic now but trending toward commitment — that's the opportunity signal.
Hover any bar for an instant tooltip that explains its height in plain English before you click into the full analysis.

Left Panel — Layers & Theses
Layers tab: Toggle individual topic layers. 32 layers across Conflict & Power, Earth Systems, Economy, Insurance Sector, Human Capital, Technology, and Frontier. Active layers show their node count.
Theses tab: One-click bundles that activate related layers together. "Insurance Collapse" activates all 8 insurance sector layers. "World On Edge" activates conflict + migration + humanitarian. Theses are the fastest way to read a specific thesis.
Right Panel — Node List
Sorted by urgency — TOXIC nodes at top, COMMIT at bottom. Each card shows the node name, layer, current state, and entropy score. ◈ OPP badge means the opportunity layer has flagged this node as an asymmetric entry. 📍 LOCAL badge means it's a county or ZIP-level US node.

The Math (Plain English)
NERVA uses von Neumann entropy from quantum mechanics — a measurement of how mixed or uncertain a quantum state is. Applied to decision-making: high entropy = many equally plausible outcomes = noise. Low entropy = state has collapsed to a clear trajectory = signal.
Each node lives on a Bloch sphere — a sphere where the north pole is COMMIT (pure eigenstate, clean signal) and the equator is maximum uncertainty. The small Bloch diagram in each node's detail panel shows exactly where on that sphere the decision state sits.
The time horizon slider at the bottom shifts the entropy calculation across six time windows from 24 hours to 10 years. Watch what happens when you slide from flash crisis to civilizational scale — some nodes that are TOXIC now become COMMIT at 10 years. That transition is the opportunity surface.
How to Read the 10-Year Outlook
The six time windows aren't just zoom levels on a timeline — each represents a fundamentally different type of decision surface, with different entropy physics governing what is readable and what is noise.
Horizon

What the Math Is Doing
Who Uses This
24 Hours
Crisis response
Entropy at maximum volatility weight. Current coherence dominates. Near-term shocks priced fully.
Operators, traders, incident commanders
72 Hours
Tactical window
Short-cycle momentum. Coherence decay begins but hasn't compound-looped yet.
Fund managers, logistics, crisis comms
30 Days
Operational cycle
Structural factors begin to dominate over event noise. Trajectory, not trigger.
Executives, policy teams, analysts
6 Months
Strategic arc
Short-cycle entropy decays out. What remains is the underlying attractor state — where the system is actually going.
Investors, strategists, long-position holders
2 Years
Regime horizon
Coherence decay near-complete for high-entropy nodes. Only structural COMMIT survives. This is where opportunity scores peak.
Private equity, infrastructure, sovereign wealth
10 Years
Civilizational scale
All transient entropy has decayed. You're reading the base-state attractor — physics, demographics, geology. These don't change without civilizational-scale intervention.
Endowments, family offices, existential risk researchers
The inversion principle: A node that reads TOXIC at 24h but COMMIT at 10yr is not contradictory — it means the system is in a painful transition toward a locked state. Iran at 24h is maximum entropy war. At 10yr, some form of resolution (regime change, exhaustion, normalization) has collapsed the superposition. The gap between these states is where NERVA finds asymmetric value.
What Changes vs What Stays Fixed
Changes with horizon: Event-driven entropy, political volatility, financial noise, tactical military situations. These are high-frequency oscillations that decay out over time.
Stays fixed regardless of horizon: Geography (chokepoints, arable land), demographics (India's dividend is locked regardless of government), physics (Arctic ice melt trajectory, Cascadia subduction return period). These nodes read the same at 24h and 10yr because the underlying attractor is the same — what changes is only the entropy wrapping around them.
The most important 10-year signal: Find nodes that are ESCALATE or TOXIC at 24h but COMMIT at 10yr, AND where the gap is driven by physics/demographics rather than politics. These are the ones where the 10yr trajectory is nearly certain even though the path is volatile. That's where NERVA's opportunity layer pays off most — you can see the destination clearly even when the road is chaotic.
The ρ₀₁ term (coherence coupling) is the off-diagonal element of the density matrix. It measures how strongly a node is coupled to its adjacent decision field. High ρ₀₁ = the node is influential and connected. The geodesic arcs between nodes are weighted by ρ₀₁ decay — the arc collapses toward the globe surface as coherence is lost across distance.
The Opportunity Layer
The ◈ Opportunity Surface inverts NERVA's normal logic. Instead of flagging clean signals, it identifies nodes that are TOXIC or ESCALATE at the current horizon but trend toward COMMIT or HOLD at the 2-year horizon. This is the asymmetric entry calculation — maximum fear priced in now, trajectory improving later.
Opportunity Score (0–100) is computed from the entropy gap between current and 2-year states, amplified if the node has explicit contrarian logic attached. Each opportunity node in the detail panel shows the specific investment or decision thesis.
